Philadelphia Eagles get a huge shout out from Carli Lloyd

In case you needed another reason to love the US Women’s National Team, Carli Lloyd just gave you one with her speech at the victory parade in New York City.

Just in case you haven’t heard the US Women’s National Team just made history by winning its’ fourth World Cup title. This past Tuesday, Carli Lloyd, their star forward, took it upon herself to put the spotlight on another sports team that’s inspired her. During her speech at the World Cup victory parade in New York City, Lloyd gave a special shout out to her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

That one ought to make you smile.

Lloyd is not the only ‘Birds’ fan on her team. Julie Johnston Ertz, is of course, the wife of one of our favorite tight ends, Zach Ertz. Like Lloyd, Mrs. Ertz has been seen publicly expressing her love for the Eagles. Remember when Julie bawled her eyes out when she found out her husband and the Philadelphia Eagles advanced to the Super Bowl in 2018.

What made Lloyd’s moment so legendary was the fact that she announced her love for the Eagles in New York City of all places. She may have been born and raised in New Jersey, but Philly is where her heart resides.

Eat your heart out New York Giants fans. You’ve got to love this one if you love ‘The Birds’. Go USA and, and as always, go ‘Birds’.
