Pro Football Focus put together an offensive team of “Iron Men” from 2018 and Philadelphia Eagles own Jason Kelce appeared on the roster.

There are a few ‘teams’ in the NFL that players could be on, which proves an individual athlete is at the top of their game. For starters, there’s the Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl is practically an All-Star game where players get voted in by the fans. While the Pro Bowl has become somewhat of a popularity contest, some players still thrive off of making the team.

Another honor for players would be the All-Pro teams. There’s not an actual game when the All-Pro teams are brought together to battle, but if a player makes the roster, it proves they are the best of the best. Now, Pro Football Focus is putting together a team of “Iron Men.” In football, the term “Iron Man” has a different meaning each time, but it’s ultimately always summed up to one thing: A player who plays a lot, and plays well in the process without many setbacks.

Being that the Philadelphia Eagles have had so many injuries in the recent past, you won’t be surprised to find out that not a lot of their guys could be considered Iron Men. In order to make this specific team, PFF explains a player must have played over 80-percent of their snaps all year while maintaining a PFF grade of over 80. On the offensive team, the Eagles had a representative.

Jason Kelce is an “Iron Man”

"“There are only so many different ways to say that he’s arguably the best center in the league.  Kelce was recently named to our “most balanced” offensive linemen list, and he’s the anchor of an Eagles’ offensive line that we think is the best in the NFL. Kelce led all centers with an 83.6 overall grade in 2018.”"

Last season, Jason Kelce maintained an overall PFF grade of 84.9. He played a total of 1,037 offensive snaps, which accounted for 94-percent of the total offensive snaps all year long. Quite the impressive feat considering that Kelce was dealing with a load of injuries throughout the year. Thanks to his elite play up front, Kelce managed to garner All-Pro honors for the second season in a row. For that, the Eagles showed their appreciation by offering an extension to Kelce.
