7. Riley Cooper

Cooper was never a first or second option in Philly’s passing game, but after six NFL seasons and 169 receptions for 2,418 yards and 18 touchdowns, ‘The Birds’ decided to move on after the 2015 season.

He tried to make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster but didn’t. He spent 2016 out of football and, officially, retired on December 12th of 2017 via his Twitter account. He hasn’t really been seen or heard from since. Hey, does anybody remember when they used to put missing people on milk cartons?

8. Trey Burton

Who would have thought Lawrence Godfrey Burton III a.k.a ‘Trey’ would have been the trigger man in the most famous trick play in Super Bowl history? Many Eagles fans were disappointed when he left. Some even thought Philly should have found some cap space to sign him, but they didn’t.

That’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Fast forward, and the theory is the Eagles may not have a third tight end on the roster whose potential matches Burton’s. He’s now with the Chicago Bears, and after posting 54 catches for 569 yards and six touchdowns in 2018, there may be some facts to back that.

Still, he wasn’t worth breaking the bank for. Trust and believe he’ll be in the hearts of Eagles fans forever though.
