Jordan Howard, Running back

Yep, part of trading for Howard meant the Eagles were also going to have to work a new deal out for him after one season. Does Howard join the likes of LeGarrette Blount and Jay Ajayi, good running backs who go ‘one and done’ in Philly, or is this a guy they keep around for a few seasons?

Don’t look now, but Melvin Gordon trade rumors are starting to pop up now too. That isn’t helping matters.

Wendell Smallwood, Running back

Since we’re discussing running backs, we should all bring up Wendell Smallwood. This is the final year of his rookie contract, If you’re a die-hard Eagles fan you know two things.

One, when allowed to play (and when he’s healthy), Smallwood has shown his value. Second, the coaches on this team sometimes treat him like he’s expendable and like they’re always looking for his replacement. Might this be the last season that we see him in a green jersey?

Hassan Ridgeway, Defensive Tackle

Ridgeway comes to the Eagles by way of the Indianapolis Colts trading him for the 246th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. If he makes the roster, he’ll provide depth to the interior of the defensive line behind Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson and Timmy Jernigan.

Can he play his way into some job security and a possible contract extension?
