Charles Johnson, WR

"Spadaro’s Take: “He’s been around the NFL since 2013. He’s never really found solid, long-term footing. He’ll have to play special teams to make it here and he will have to show up every day in camp, but he’s got a good bit of talent and he’s coming off a strong spring showing. This is going to be a spirited competition for the job or two behind receivers Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.”"

Charles Johnson is your typical NFL journeyman. He’s been in the NFL since 2013, and the Eagles happen to be the sixth team he’s joined since he was picked in the seventh round back then. Johnson thought he was getting a fresh start in the AAF with the Orlando Apollos, but he soon became unemployed since the league shut down its operations rather quickly.

Now, Johnson will look to get yet another chance in the NFL at 30 years-old. This time, he will compete for a roster spot with the Eagles. Considering how crowded the receivers room looks in 2019, anybody past JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins on the depth chart is a longshot to make the team. Johnson has experience and upside, but he will have to go above and beyond to stand out in this camp battle.
