The Eagles offense is beaming with talent heading into the 2019 Fantasy Football season. Here’s the best value for their draft positioning.

Fantasy football is a game of value. Luckily for Philadelphia Eagles fans, there is value aplenty within the confines of the depth chart.

How you value players depends on your draft philosophy. Everyone’s is different. If you like a running back heavy team, you might think Miles Sanders presents the best value for his ADP (Average Draft Position.) If you want to secure a consistently productive tight end, Zach Ertz might be your guy, but it will cost you.

You don’t need someone to sell you on the benefit of having a top tight end in the NFL. I’m here to tell you the best bang for your buck on the Eagles roster, from a fantasy football perspective, is wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

Yes, the epitome of “boom or bust” is DeSean Jackson.

ADP

Jackson’s greatest asset is his price. Players like the aforementioned Ertz and quarterback Carson Wentz are being drafted in the first few picks in their respective positions. According to ESPN’s Live Draft Trends, DeSean Jackson’s ADP is currently 131.0 while rostered in just 77.1% of drafts.

This is extreme value for a player with Jackson’s skill set being drafted with the Houston Texans‘ Keke Coutee and the Carolina Panthers‘ Curtis Samuel. Let him fall and scoop him up as a high-upside flex option or bye week all-star.

Let’s look at Jackson’s yards per reception.

DeSean Jackson isn’t going to catch 100 passes this year. He doesn’t do his damage with volume. He kills you with efficiency. In 2018, Jackson had 774 yards receiving on just 41 receptions. On 18.9 YPC, you’re looking at roughly two fantasy points (three in PPR) every time ’10’ touches the ball. At an 18.9 YPC clip, he will touch 1,000 yards in just 53 receptions.

This graphic from Pro Football Focus shows just how electric Jackson can be once he gets the ball in his hands.

How does ’11’ factor in?

Carson Wentz finally gets his deep target. DeSean Jackson gets arguably the best pure passer of his career. We’ve seen glimpses of the big arm Wentz possesses, but injuries and lack of a true vertical threat have limited those opportunities.

In 2017, prior to tearing his ACL & MCL, Wentz was ranked ninth in the NFL in deep ball attempts, a number that dropped to 26th in the league in 2018. The Eagles offense looks to be a lot more explosive in 2019, and DeSean Jackson will be a major factor in making sure that happens.

Cris Carter believes in the dangerous pairing.

Next. Connor Barwin could join the Eagles at training camp soon. dark

DeSean Jackson isn’t going to be your every week starter in Fantasy Football, unless you’re in a 16-team league. That’s ok. He, more than any other player on the Eagles roster, is a fantasy week-winner. The combination of an easy draft pick, historical yards per catch, and an elite passer make this a no brainer for your fantasy football team. That’s value.
