Philadelphia Eagles veteran linebacker Paul Worrilow is still dealing with ACL complications this offseason.

Last year in the springtime, the Philadelphia Eagles were looking for veteran linebackers to bring on board. That’s when they made a veteran linebacker’s dream come true. Delaware native Paul Worrilow might’ve spent a good chunk of his career with the Atlanta Falcons, but playing for the Eagles was something he wanted to do since he was young.

By no means was Worrilow expected to take over with a starting spot on the defense, but some rotational snaps along with a role on special teams surely weren’t out of the question. Worrilow could’ve offered some nice depth last season, but he would never get to debut for the Eagles in the preseason or the regular season. Right at the start of spring practices, he went down with a knee injury. It turned out that Worrilow tore his ACL.

Just like that, Worrilow’s career as an Eagles linebacker already seemed like a big failure. As he was on a one-year deal, and rehabbing through a season-ending injury, it seemed unrealistic that the Eagles would bring him back. To our surprise, though, they did. Back in the spring, the Eagles made it official with the linebacker and inked him to another one-year deal.

So far, Worrilow’s been back and in action, but it seems as though his knee is still giving him some issues. After a week’s worth of practice, the 29-year-old linebacker will sit out on Monday, making it now two days without training. And apparently, it has to do with his knee.

What’s the latest?

A handful of Eagles weren’t fully suited up on Monday, but Worrilow stood out because he is just one year removed from tearing his ACL. There haven’t been any detailed updates as of yet, but it could just be another rest day for Worrilow.

On Sunday, the Eagles received a day off after their first all contact practice. On Monday, they are back at it again in full pads, but Worrilow will not be involved. The best-case scenario here is that he’s just being eased back into the swing of things. The worst-case scenario would be missing further time to more knee complications. We will update as soon as the Eagles coaching staff does.
