In Conclusion…

The NFL has seen something of a renaissance at the tight end position. With the retirement of Gronkowski, it’ll be interesting to see which tight end will reach out and grab the brass ring and be seen as the best. Most NFL pundits see the three best as being Kelce, Kittle and Ertz.

Teams will be more prepared for the Chiefs’ offense, one that was relatively new and fresh a year ago. Ebron’s production relies heavily on the health of Luck, unlike Ertz who has produced with all his quarterbacks he’s played with, whether that be Wentz, Nick Foles, or even Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.

Kittle will need to get acclimated with the returning Garoppolo, while Ertz won’t have to worry about that as Wentz and Ertz share a bond stronger than most passer and receiver duos in the NFL.

Ertz can certainly take the leap he needs this season to be considered the best with hopefully a full season of a healthy and focused Carson Wentz. In doing so, it would not only benefit him, but the team as a whole in recapturing that Super Bowl glory.

For what it’s worth, only one of these tight ends can lay claim to having a go-ahead score and deciding touchdown in the Super Bowl. That honor belongs to Ertz. Is that relevant to the 2019 season? Not at all, but it stands out on a resume that isn’t anything to sneeze at.
