JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR, 2nd Round Pick
Insider’s Take:
"“The Eagles have to be thrilled with what they have seen from him [JJ Arcega-Whiteside] so far in camp.” – Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP"
JJ Arcega-Whiteside likely wasn’t known by many Eagles fans when the team selected him as their second, second-round pick in the draft. But the Stanford stand out quickly became a player to watch as his highlights floated around the internet shortly after he arrived in Philadelphia.
The big-bodied wideout wasn’t exactly the type of wide receiver many thought the Eagles would go for, but since his game resembled Alshon Jeffery’s, nobody was really complaining.
During OTAs, Arcega-Whiteside had every beat writer in town talking about his production in 7-on-7 drills. Then, Eagles’ head coach Doug Pederson mentioned the rookie as one of his clear-cut standouts from the spring portion of the offseason.
Apparently, the hype is once again real. Arcega-Whiteside is currently battling with Mack Hollins for the fourth spot on the depth chart, and so far it’s sounding like he’s winning. Not to mention, the rookie also got some first-team reps during red zone drills recently. That was Arcega-Whiteside’s forte in college.
