Andre Dillard, OT, 1st Round Pick

Insider’s Take:

"“Andre Dillard took first team left tackle reps with Peters resting. He looked good. Dillard showed explosive quickness out of his stance to stifle Josh Sweat.” – Brandon Lee Gowton of BGN"

Last but not least, Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick, Andre Dillard. The first-rounder out of Washington State was impressive enough for the Eagles to trade up for. Once the Eagles selected him, it became evident that Dillard was going to be Jason Peters’ successor.

The Eagles proved that theory to be correct as the two backups before (Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Jordan Mailata) are off on the other side of the line learning new positions. Meanwhile, Dillard is filling in for Peters when the long-time veteran is missing reps, or taking practices off.

Known for his pass-blocking abilities, Dillard has been the real deal so far in that department. And with Jason Peters having the day off recently, Dillard was rewarded with some first-team reps, where he thrived in his role. Dillard is in a unique situation where he doesn’t have to be a starter in 2019. However, he will be the next man up if Peters does happen to go down.
