Week one of Philadelphia Eagles training camp is in the books. Which five players stood out so far in the eyes of Doug Pederson?
Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles returned to the Nova Care Complex after a long month off. For the first time since their devastating loss to the New Orleans Saints back in January, the Eagles suited up in full pads this week and got it popping on the field. Some practices were taken lighter than others — while other practices contained a competitive 11-on-11 scrimmage.
After a week’s worth of sessions though, Eagles’ head coach Doug Pederson might have a good idea of who his camp standouts are. Now, don’t expect to hear the usual suspects here such as Carson Wentz, DeSean Jackson, and Malcolm Jenkins. While we know those established stars are good on the field, Pederson has kept his eyes on some under the radar type players.
After Thursday’s full-padded practice, which exceeded two hours, Pederson was ready to leave the building and take Friday off. However, he did meet with reporters at a podium on the field before he took off, and that’s when he was asked which players stood out to him. So Pederson rattled off five names of guys who haven’t been talked about much, but who stood out.
