Marken Michel, WR

Once again, another roster hopeful who happens to be a wide receiver is standing out at training camp. Except for this time, it’s a player who sort of made a name for himself before Eagles training camp. Marken Michel happened to be a player who garnered a ton of buzz during the spring practice sessions. As specific starting wideouts missed reps due to injury or absence, Michel was given the opportunity to gain more reps with the starters.

Carson Wentz was dealing throughout the spring. And after many sessions, he began to build up a nice connection for with Marken Michel, the former Calgary Stampeder. In case you were wondering — yes, Marken Michel is related to 2018 first-round running back, Sony Michel. Unlike his brother though, Marken didn’t attend a major school such as Georgia. Rather, he landed in Massachusetts.

Michel was an undrafted free agent, who landed with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2016. He failed to make the final 53-man roster. And instead of staying in the United States to play on a practice squad, Michel went to the CFL where made a name for himself with over 1,200 yards and eight total touchdowns. The Eagles are now giving him a shot, and so far he’s done well.
