The Philadelphia Eagles lone open training camp practice of the Summer will definitely be one to remember.

August 4th of 2019 is going to be one of those days that you won’t have any problems remembering if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. During Philly’s lone open practice of training camp, Swoop, the Eagles’ loveable mascot, showed up to greet fans at the entrance.

The military was honored. Fans had a ball. There was a huge ovation for the return of one of Philly’s most beloved ‘Birds’, DeSean Jackson.

There was even one guy who, for some reason, thought it was appropriate to show up in a New York Giants jersey. Check out some of the highlights.

Some of the new Eagles were on display as Philly showcased the likes of Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard and Joe Ostman. The night wasn’t completely free of some unfortunate events. Ostman would be carted off of the field, and wide receiver Shelton Gibson would limp to the sidelines.

That would cause quite a bit of conversation on social media as Ostman’s name is now on a growing list of Eagles who are dealing with injuries (Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, Rodney McLeod, Nigel Bradham, Brandon BrooksCre’Von LeBlanc, Kamu Grugier-Hill, and Paul Worrilow).

There’s even Casey Tucker who’s now dealing with a concussion.

As we all know, this is how it works, life in the NFL. As Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said, it’s now time to train up some of the depth Philly’s worked so hard to acquire. Philly’s defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz addressed members of the media prior to ‘The Birds’ taking the field.

Here are more highlights if you were unable to make it. Then again, they’re worth checking out even if you did.

It’s great to see ‘The Birds’ back at the link again. The first preseason game is on Thursday at ‘The Linc’ in front of those same great fans.
