3. Johnathan Cyprien, S
Here’s a name you wouldn’t expect to stand out. Just a few days ago, the Eagles signed veteran safety Johnathan Cyprien to a one-year deal. Honestly, we’re still unsure of why the Eagles felt the need to grab the former Titans safety. Is it because Rodney McLeod suffered a setback? Or maybe, Andrew Sendejo and Tre Sullivan have been underwhelming?
Again, we’re not sure, but so far the move has paid off a bit. Cyprien hasn’t played since the 2017 season, thanks to an ACL injury, which he suffered the last offseason. Having a year off due to rehab was tough for the veteran, but now he feels back and better than ever.
So far, Cyprien has been creating quite a buzz around his name. Not only is his versatility stuck in Jim Schwartz’s mind, but he’s just been flat out making plays. As he tries to make the final 53-man roster, Cyprien has proved that he isn’t scared to get physical. On Sunday, he continued to make plays and even forced a fumble in the live scrimmage. We’ll see how his preseason plays out.
