5. Nate Sudfeld, QB

Another year, another backup quarterback shining for the Philadelphia Eagles. Obviously, we all know what Nick Foles has brought to the table in the past as the second-string quarterback, but we’re not sure what the Eagles truly have in Nate Sudfeld.

In the preseason last year, Sudfeld was pretty good. He did make foolish mistakes, as most quarterbacks do — but for the most part, he showed some solid flashes. This year, Sudfeld has the second-string position locked up.

Hopefully, the Eagles won’t need to find out if he can be Nick Foles or not, but in practice, he’s been intriguing. As Bleeding Green Nation’s Brandon Lee Gowton said, “Nate Sudfeld continues to look like Nate STUDfeld.” The guy is pretty good for a backup quarterback.

The Eagles have hyped up the former Redskins practice squad passer over the last two offseasons, and he’s been flashing his development all throughout the 2019 offseason. Now, we’ll see some significant action from Sudfeld on the game field for the next four weeks.
