Philadelphia Eagles: 15 Players to watch against Tennessee Titans
The 2019 NFL Draft Class
Andre Dillard, OT
He’s the first-round pick of this year’s Eagles draft class. So obviously we would like to see what the highest pick can offer. With Jason Peters on his way out sooner than later, Dillard’s first preseason game will give everybody a glimpse of the future at the left tackle position. His pass blocking has been as good as advertised, but what about everything else?
Miles Sanders, RB
Miles Sanders has been the most impressive rookies thus far for the Eagles. After a few big runs in open practice in front of a home crowd of 40,000-plus, Sanders has everybody very excited for his NFL debut. We expect Sanders to have a role in the regular season, so these reps in the preseason will be a nice example of what he’s going to bring to the table.
JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR
In the spring, JJ Arcega-Whiteside built up a ton of hype around his name. This summer though, the hot streak cooled down a bit. Perhaps other starting receivers outshined the rookie, but in the preseason, Arcega-Whiteside will likely get No. 1 receiver reps.
Shareef Miller, DE
Right now, I’d say former Penn State defensive end Shareef Miller has the most to prove out of the draft class. He may be a fourth-round pick, but he’s in a prime position to earn himself some rotational reps in the regular season. However, he’s been struggling to stand out in training camp.
Clayton Thorson, QB
We’re not sure if Clayton Thorson will be allowed the opportunity to play at all on Thursday. Nate Sudfeld will get a good chunk of time, and Cody Kessler exceeded Thorson on the depth chart for third string. Maybe he’ll get a few series reps late in the fourth quarter. It’s not guaranteed, though.
