The Veteran Hopefuls

Marken Michel, WR

During the spring, Marken Michel made a name for himself as he formed a nice connection with Carson Wentz as some other veteran wide receivers were sitting out. While he didn’t stand out as much in training camp, it’s clear that he just needs more reps to create a buzz around himself. He will have four weeks to do so now.

Jordan Mailata, OT

Last preseason, Jordan Mailata was a star. He played his first four games of football ever, and the entire NFL was impressed. Now that he’s been replaced by Dillard though, Mailata was forced to learn new positions on the opposite side of the line. So far, he’s been struggling. We’ll see if he can get back to his preseason stardom once again.

Hassan Ridgeway, DT

Here’s a player that most Eagles fans either forgot about or don’t know. The former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle joined the Eagles during the NFL draft this year after they sent a seventh-round pick to the Colts for him. He’s played in 34 career games, notching just under five sacks and 41 tackles. Don’t be surprised if he’s a standout this preseason against backups.
