Philadelphia Eagles: Every jersey number’s best player in team history
24. Sheldon Brown
Let’s not forget about how good Sheldon Brown was. He doesn’t get brought up much, but he’d be a decent cover guy in any era of Eagles football.
23. Troy Vincent
Troy Vincent is one of the best corners in Eagles’ history. He’s in the Eagles Hall of Fame. Where else would he be after five Pro Bowl nods (1999–2003), a First-team All-Pro nod in 2002, and after being the co-leader in interceptions in 1999.
For all he did as a player, he was an even better person, earning the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2002 and the ‘Whizzer’ White NFL Man of the Year that same year.
22. Duce Staley
You could argue that some of Duce Staley‘s opportunity to coach in Philly began because he was so incredibly loved as a player. He’s been hired or retained by three Eagles coaches, and who can forget the chill they got every time you heard the chant of ‘DUUUUUUUUUUCE’ at Veterans Stadium or Lincoln Financial Field?
21. Eric Allen
Eric Allen should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Bobby Taylor gets love here too, and he would probably claim this spot if not for Allen. In Allen, we’re discussing one of the greatest Eagles of all time regardless of position. He’s a member of the Eagles 75th Anniversary Team and their Hall of Fame.
20. Brian Dawkins
Does this one need an explanation? ‘Dawk’ is considered by some as the greatest Eagle of all time, and that’s an argument that could be made. Brian Dawkins did it all in his time with the ‘Birds’. Is everybody good on this one? Okay. Let’s move on.
