3. Dallas Goedert is not your average backup
There’s a reason why former South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. If Zach Ertz wasn’t a part of the Eagles, Goedert would be the clear-cut starting tight end on the team. He showed flashes last season, and he showed them once again during the preseason as well. This guy would be a starter on a lot of different teams.
4. Jason Kelce’s look
So longtime center Jason Kelce didn’t play on Thursday. Why would he? The guy is a back-to-back All-Pro. We know what he’s capable of doing on the football field already. Do you know what he’s capable of doing off the football field though? Stealing the show. First, it was the mummers costume. Now, it’s this crazy hair that he was rocking on the sidelines.
5. Jordan Mailata looked rough
Last year, seventh-round offensive lineman Jordan Mailata played his first four games of football… Ever! And guess what? He ended up shocking the world. Mailata wasn’t flawless in 2018, but he did an excellent job for a guy who never played football before. Unfortunately, he might’ve raised the bar too high for himself this year. On Thursday, Mailata was not as reliable up front. And more often than not, you can see him getting bullied in the trenches. Not a great night for his stock.
