3. Why bring him back now?

The recent preseason formula of the Eagles seems to look like this. Say goodbye to the guys who have no shot of making the team, and replace them with guys who have realistic shots. Most of Philly’s defensive tackle rotation seems to be set with Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, and Timmy Jernigan.

The only thing is Cox has that issue with the foot, and we’re not sure if Jernigan will ever be the same guy he once was. We hope he is, but we don’t know.

Bruce HectorTreyvon HesterHassan Ridgeway, and Kevin Wilkins are the other guys on the roster. Maybe Philly holds Cox out until the regular season. Maybe they don’t. Either way, the guys at the bottom of the roster will be given multiple opportunities to prove themselves.

That includes Shittu. Buckle up Eagles fans. Defensive tackle is officially one of the more interesting battles in camp.
