The Philadelphia Eagles continue to add to their depth along the offensive line by signing Brett Toth. He’s been given a military waiver, making him eligible to join the team.
Many of us were hoping we’d see the Philadelphia Eagles make some sort of signing on Friday. They did, but it didn’t come in the fashion that we expected. After head coach Doug Pederson expressed they’d continue to monitor the progress of Cody Kessler, we thought they’d sign a quarterback. They, instead, decided to add some depth to their offensive line, going with a signing that no one saw coming before Friday. This one made Brett Toth an Eagle.
The news was initially reported by Adam Schefter a little before lunchtime on the East Coast.

Former Army OT Brett Toth was given a military waiver today and now will sign a three-year deal to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, per his agent Alan Herman.

Shortly before dinner, everything was official. The U.S. Army had waived his service request, making him eligible to play in the NFL, and now, that he was given his waiver, Toth was, indeed, free to sign with Philly.

He’s a big dude. Try six-foot-six and 305 pounds on for size. This is a signing that raises some eyebrows. Here are three of a dozen or so reactions following pen being put to paper.
