Philadelphia Eagles: Predicting their final roster after 2 preseason games
Defensive end (6)
The verdict: Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Vinny Curry, Shareef Miller, Josh Sweat, Daeshon Hall
The argument: Daeshon Hall is having a whale of a preseason, including two sacks and a forced fumble versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. Forget the unnecessary celebration and having to sprint back to the line once he realized the Jags were in a hurry-up offense. He made a mistake. It happens.
Still, he’s showing more and more each week that he’s deserving of the spot we previously gave to Joe Ostman. Philly may take six defensive ends into the regular season, and Hall, Graham, Barnett, Curry, Miller, and Sweat are the six best defensive ends the Eagles have.
Defensive tackle (5)
The verdict: Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Timmy Jernigan, Hassan Ridgeway, Treyvon Hester
The argument: Hassan Ridgeway has been very impressive during Philly’s preseason campaign. The knowledge of that plus the questions about whether or not Timmy Jernigan will ever be the guy he used to support the theory that two young defensive tackles with a ton of talent (Ridgeway and Hester) make this roster along with Fletcher Cox and Malik Jackson.
