Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Daeshon Hall’s play is sending shockwaves throughout the NFL.

Fans, members of the media, and the Philadelphia Eagles‘ coaches have known about Daeshon Hall’s ability for quite some time. It appears that, after two NFL preseason games, the rest of the league and fans on other teams are starting to pay attention as well.

Just ask the Jacksonville Jaguars or anybody that follows them. They can give you a full description of him and how good he is.

That’s because Hall made their lives a living ‘you know what’ while he racked up two sacks and a forced fumble in Philly’s second preseason game of 2019. He’s been picked on because a celebration following one of those sacks as it was a little unnecessary and it demonstrated that he had lost track of what was going on in the game.

It was only for a few seconds, but it forced him to have to sprint back to the line to avoid an offsides call. What’s worse is, at six-foot-six inches tall and at 266 pounds, he’s too big to hide. The announcers noticed it. His defensive coordinator noticed it, but even as Jim Schwartz shook his head in disapproval, everyone can be assured of something.

It hasn’t cost him a spot on this team or affected him negatively. To be honest, it can be used as a learning experience.

Those two sacks and forced fumble now give him eight pressures, three sacks, and two forced fumbles on the thirty rushing attempts he’s had in a two-game period.

Hall’s no longer a secret on the Eagles’ depth chart. He’s getting a ton of recognition, including a well-deserved mention from Thomas Frank Carr of Pro Football Focus

Take a look.

Hall came into 2019 preseason as a bit of an unknown. He was nestled behind Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Vinny Curry, Josh Sweat, Joe Ostman and Shareef Miller on the depth chart. Recently, we’ve seen a trend in the NFL. No one wants to play their starters.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson shared that approach in coaching and made the decision not to play his in the first two games. Couple that with an unfortunate injury to Joe Ostman, and Hall was allowed to show everyone what he could do.

He’s responded with two monster performances. PFF gave him an overall pass-rush grade of 90.9 in Week 1 and a grade of 93.4 in Week 2. His overall grade of 95.4 is tops in the NFL through the first two weeks. Not only has he done a good job. He may have worked his way onto Philly’s 53-man roster.
