Some were wondering if the Philadelphia Eagles would add a linebacker, and they have in the form of Chris Worley. Here are three thoughts on the move.

When we all woke up on Monday, there was some speculation that something might happen, and something did. With two preseason games in the books, some were asking if the Philadelphia Eagles would be bold enough to sign someone to their roster this close to the start of the regular season. They were. This one’s a linebacker, and his name is Chris Worley.

Many of you haven’t heard of him, have you? Don’t worry. It isn’t a big deal. A lot of people haven’t, but you’re sure to hear a lot about him over the next two weeks.

Here’s the official announcement courtesy of the Eagles themselves.

Though the person signed presents a little mystery, Philly’s election to add someone shouldn’t be a surprise. With Shelton Gibson and Joe Ostman both on the team’s injured reserve and with Jalen Mills hanging out on the physically unable to perform list, the Eagles had some space on the roster.

Keep in mind the Eagles said farewell to Paul Worilow, and that happened on Sunday. Plus, with Nigel Bradham still trying to get back into the swing of things and with Kamu Grugier-Hill‘s injury situation, Philly needed a linebacker. Here are three thoughts on the newest Eagle.
