The Philadelphia Eagles are practicing with the Baltimore Ravens this week in preparation for their Week 3 preseason game on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Eagles welcome a familiar face to the Novacare Complex this week in the form of their former special teams coordinator John Harbaugh. This shouldn’t come as a shock to you as ITI previously made mention of this back in June.

The ‘City of Brotherly Love’ is where Harbaugh enjoyed his first-ever NFL coaching gig from 1998 to 2007 before he landed with the Baltimore Ravens. He’s been there ever since.

As the regular season approaches, everyone’s pumped and the adrenaline is pumping. Maybe, it’s pumping a little too hard.

As training camp began to wind down, a few of the guys began throwing punches at their Eagles teammates. When that happens, it’s usually time to start finding other guys outside of your roster to run into. Two preseason games have helped that, but in the vein of being careful comes a little boredom for the starters.

They haven’t been on the field for Week 1 or Week 2 of the preseason, and that doesn’t figure to change as we’re now three weeks away from the start of the regular season.

With that being said, these practice sessions are the starters’ only chance to get some work in against the starters for another team. Meanwhile, this is a Ravens team that we’re all still getting to know, including Harbaugh.

When he got to Baltimore, there were future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees everywhere. Now, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are among the NFL legends who have long retired, and Terrell Suggs traded Ravens purple for a blood-red Arizona Cardinals jersey.

The longest-tenured quarterback of the Harbaugh era, Joe Flacco, now plays for the Denver Broncos. This is Lamar Jackson‘s team now, and he presents a nice challenge for what’s supposed to be a dominant Eagles pass rush.

He’s Philly’s first look at an athletic quarterback. They’ll face a couple in the form of Russell Wilson when they see the Seattle Seahawks, a team that’s traditionally given them problems and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. Jackson should be a nice tune-up for both of those games, even if ‘The Birds’ won’t be allowed to touch him.
