3. Jordan Mailata

After Philly’s last experiment of taking a rugby star and teaching him the NFL game (former tight end Adam Zaruba), there weren’t many people who were excited about taking another one in another draft and trying to do the same thing.

For Jordan Mailata, however, good coaching and some patience has produced a much different result and a pretty reliable tackle. People just can’t stop raving about how good Mailata’s gotten. It appears there’s a spot on Philly’s 53-man roster waiting for the former Australian rugby standout.

4. Clayton Thorson

Now, come on. You knew ITI wasn’t leaving Clayton Thorson off of the list. He couldn’t have been much worse in his preseason debut. Outside of the interception, he couldn’t have been much better in Philly’s second game.

Here’s the thing. With the addition of Josh McCown, all roads probably lead to the practice squad when Nate Sudfeld is ready, and there, another team can steal him if they so choose. Such is life in the NFL, but we’ve learned the Eagles do have a young signal-caller worth grooming. We’ll see how he does against the Baltimore Ravens‘ defense.
