7. JJ Arcega-Whiteside

The hype train’s been following JJ Arcega-Whiteside since he arrived in Philly and for good reason. He just looks like an NFL star. Based on what we’ve seen in practice and the first two preseason games, what’s been even better news is the fact that he’s playing like a future NFL star as well.

This young man has nothing to worry about on cut day.

8. T.J. Edwards

Okay, maybe ‘skyrocket’ isn’t the proper term for T.J. Edwards yet, but he’s a very capable prospect at linebacker who’s gone from being forgotten about because of a slow 40-yard dash time. He’s no longer simply the undrafted free agent. He’s proven he could help this Eagle team in a reserve role. Unfortunately, the numbers may not be working in his favor.

9. Greg Ward Jr.

Take everything we just said about Edwards, turn him into a former quarterback turned wide receiver, and you’ve got Greg Ward Jr. It seems like Ward’s been on the team for four years. The numbers just don’t ever seem to work out in his favor.

This preseason may produce similar results, but it’s impossible to leave a man off of the list who was on the receiving end of a brilliant 38-yard catch and run that wound up being Clayton Thorson’s only touchdown pass. Oh, and did we mention this was the result of a Doug Pederson gamble on fourth down?
