The Offensive side of the ball

Marken Michel, WR

Two weeks ago, Marken Michel caught the lone touchdown on the Eagles offense from a solid deep ball thrown by Nate Sudfeld. After a successful minicamp, and hot start to training camp, it felt like Michel was really onto a potential breakout.

Unfortunately, he didn’t do much in his follow-up performance against the Jaguars last week. We’ll see if he can get back into favor in the deep lineup of wideouts, or if he’s just a one-play wonder.

Greg Ward, WR

So we said Marken Michel was the breakout wideout of week one. Well, week two, Greg Ward was the wide receiver who stood out the most. Simply because he caught a nice 50/50 ball from rookie quarterback, Clayton Thorson and flashed some nice YAC on the play with a sick juke on the defender.

For a couple of years now, Ward has been trying to crack the Eagles’ final roster but he hasn’t been successful. Last week, he finally flashed some skill on the preseason field. Now, we have to see if he can follow-up, or if he will be a one-play wonder just like Michel.
