Donovan McNabb is putting money down on the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LIV.

Now that sports betting is legalized beyond Las Vegas, Nevada, there have been brand new casinos opening up their sportsbook lounges all across the states. Recently, a brand new sportsbook opened up at the Del Lago Resort in Rochester, New York courtesy of DraftKings, and they had a special guest come and place the first best ever.

Who was their guest? None other than former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb. Now, McNabb wasn’t there to represent the Eagles obviously, as he was in New York. Instead, he was there because he is a Syracuse legend. However, when he was asked to place the first bet at the casino, he did put his money on the team that drafted him out of ‘Cuse.

According to The Action Network’s Darren Rovell, McNabb placed his wager of $100 on the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LIV this year in Miami. Their current odds are set at 14/1. Therefore, if the Eagles do accomplish winning it all for the second time in three seasons, McNabb will be $1,400 dollars richer. A nice little potential payout there for the Eagles legend.

The evidence of the bet

A couple of years ago when the Eagles were shaping up to be a Super Bowl team, McNabb got in the good graces of the fan base for a moment. He showed up to an Eagles game at The Linc and was welcomed with open arms and cheers when they showed him on the big screen during an intermission. After the game, McNabb met up with current Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

At the time, everything felt okay between McNabb and Eagles fans from all over — but that feeling would not last long. This past spring, McNabb had some realistic, but blunt words and expectations for Wentz.

McNabb said that Wentz needs to make it to a Super Bowl within the next few seasons, or else the Eagles should begin to look elsewhere for a franchise quarterback.

As expected, his criticism didn’t go over well with the fans of Philly once again. Now, it looks like McNabb is trying to get back on the good side of Philly fans by throwing down a bet on them to win the Super Bowl. Take it as you well, Philly.
