Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has been issued a timetable for his injured finger, which he suffered in Tuesday’s practice.

The Philadelphia Eagles were left with an injury scare on Tuesday afternoon as one of their potential top playmakers left with a suspected hand injury. During a light workout session, Eagles veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson got checked on as he dealt with finger discomfort.

Come to find out, Jackson actually suffered a broken ring finger. The initial reaction on Tuesday wasn’t all that serious since the injury wasn’t season-threatening. In fact, the Eagles weren’t really worried about Jackson missing any time at all with the season-opener approaching.

As everybody within the organization remains calm, Jackson’s week one status does actually remain in the air depending on his pain level. Immediately after the initial diagnosis of a broken finger, Jackson was issued a custom splint, which he will try out on Wednesday.

According to NFL Insider Josina Anderson, Jackson’s comfort level could a play a part in whether he will go against the Washington Redskins in two weeks for the regular season or not. With the official diagnosis being a broken finger, the timetable is actually set at three-to-four weeks.

Will the Eagles lose Jackson for that amount of time? Or will he toughen it out and stick to his plan of making his Eagles re-debut in September? The answer remains to be seen. The veteran wide receiver will be available to practice on Wednesday likely on a limited basis.

If he can adjust to the custom splint he was issued, then his chances of making it to week one are high. If the discomfort with the splint completely alters his ability to catch though, the Eagles could be facing a much bigger problem than initially anticipated here. Obviously, the team is confident they will have Jackson ready in two weeks, though.
