How would Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham feel about the team bringing in a guy like Jadeveon Clowney?

Another week of the offseason calls for another week full of Philadelphia Eagles trade rumors. That’s just what happens when a guy like Howie Roseman is running the ship. At this point, we’ve realized that whenever a significant name hits the trade market, Roseman is calling.

He did it over the last year with names such as Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, Golden Tate and more. Now, he’s doing it with the Houston Texans who are willing to deal their Pro Bowl defensive end, Jadeveon Clowney.

For the entire offseason, Clowney has been unwilling to report to the Texans facility to practice. Being that Houston wants the pass rusher to play on a franchise tag, Clowney wants to make it a point that he won’t risk his body for any longer without any long-term commitment.

So at this point, the Texans can either bite the bullet and lose Clowney for this year — or trade him away to gain some value from a potential suitor. Right now, there are three teams in the mix — the Miami Dolphins, the Seattle Seahawks, and none other than the Philadelphia Eagles.

Are the Eagles serious contenders?

Just this past offseason the Eagles inked two pass rushers who are going to get a lot of work in this year. One being their former pass rusher, Vinny Curry who is coming back for the year. And the other being Brandon Graham, who inked a three-year deal as he was set to cash out in free agency.

Now that Graham is back, the Eagles defensive line hasn’t taken much of a massive hit. However, this pass-rushing unit could be better, and Clowney would surely take them over the top. Since the Eagles tend to rotate their guys a lot though, how would some of these players feel about bringing in such a big name like Clowney if it were to happen?

Well, according to Brandon Graham, he would welcome it with open arms. “I never question upstairs at all,” Graham said pertaining to the possibility of the front office making a trade for another defensive end. “I’m always going to welcome whoever they bring in to help us win.”

If Clowney were to land in Philly as he reportedly prefers, it wouldn’t affect Graham as much as it would affect the Eagles 2017 first-round pick, Derek Barnett. In Graham’s mind, though, he’s more than willing to adjust to having a greater talent playing along with him on the defensive line as long as it makes the team better.
