6. Godwin Igwebuike, safety

Godwin Igwebuike went undrafted in 2018. He’s already been with four NFL teams, including the Eagles. His career in Philly wasn’t a long one. He was claimed off waivers on April 30th of this year, but he was waived on August 2nd.

Just seeing how he does for his new team should be enough to make him an interesting watch, but as has been the case everywhere else, he has an uphill climb and one more game to make New York’s roster.

7. Charone Peake, wide receiver

Here are five of the six guys the Jets are probably taking into the regular season at wide receiver: Robby AndersonQuincy EnunwaJamison Crowder, Joshua Bellamy, Greg Dortch. That means Charone Peake is in a battle, most likely, with Jeff Smith, Deonte Thompson, Tim White, and J.J. Jones.

If special teams play is the deciding factor, it may indeed be Peake who sneaks in. If he shows some receiving skills on Thursday, that will help him as well.
