10. Nathan Shepherd, defensive lineman

Mike Maccagan drafted Nathan Shepherd 72nd overall in Round 3 of the 2018 NFL Draft. It seemed like a reach even then, and the Jets’ new head coach, Adam Gase, taught Eagles and their fans two years ago when he was coaching the Miami Dolphins that he has no problem getting rid of guys who aren’t his guys. Remember what happened to Jay Ajayi? Remember how he wound up in Philly?

Two years after his selection, Shepherd is on the bubble, and without a strong showing in the preseason finale (or maybe even if he has one), his final game with the Jets will probably be on Thursday. In all likelihood, he’s auditioning for other teams

11. Deonte Thompson, wide receiver

Deontay Burnett is doing well this Summer. He’s done everything the Jets have asked him to do. He’s hauled in a lot of catches during the Jets’ preseason. He’s New York’s most experienced wide receiver on the current roster as well, but when it’s all said and done, he’s probably still looking up at Greg Dortch and Charone Peake because of what they offer on special teams.

Expect a spirited effort by him on Thursday. He’ll be a good test for Philly’s young corners.

12. Bronson Kaufusi, defensive end

Bronson Kaufusi seems to be in a battle with the aforementioned Nathan Shepherd for the Jets’ last defensive end spot. Both have played a lot in the preseason, but if Gase truly has soured on Shepherd, Kaufisi could leapfrog him and find his way onto the final 53-man roster.
