8. September 15th of 2008, the premature celebration

Though Jackson’s celebrations would become a part of a very likable personality and a part of the Eagles’ culture at that time, there was one time that he could have waited a few more seconds to begin one.

In Philly’s second game of 2008, ‘The Birds’ traveled to Dallas to face the hated Cowboys. In that one, we saw the premature backward flip of the ball before he crossed into the end zone. The touchdown was challenged and overturned, but Brian Westbrook would score on the next play.

Ultimately, the Eagles would lose that one, but Jackson’s six-reception, 110-yard performance would make him the first receiver in NFL history to notch over 100 yards receiving in each of his first two games since the Eagles’ Don Looney accomplished the same feat in 1940. It was also the first time we’d see the Cowboys killer that Jackson would grow to become.

7. ’10’ leads the Eagles in receptions as a rookie.

Jackson’s first season in Philly ended with him hauling in 62 receptions. That was the most by any rookie wide-receiver in team history. His 912 receiving yards surpassed Keith Jackson‘s rookie record of 869, and the two touchdowns he scored that year would lead to 51 more. 32 of those were as a member of the Eagles.

He’ll look to add to that total in 2019.
