The Undrafted Free Agents

Nate Herbig, OL

There were many times Nate Herbig was shown on television attempting to catch his breath over these last four weeks. While the Eagles announcers did get a few chuckles out of the big man looking fatigued, there was another reason why he was being discussed. Herbig has had a pretty solid preseason, and there might be a good chance he lands on the final roster.

Some shocking cuts would have to happen elsewhere, but he might be able to count on those moves going down. This guy is in a stable position to potentially make the team and become a depth member of the Eagles strong offensive line.

Grade: B

T.J. Edwards, LB

Here’s a guy that Eagles fans were excited about when they first found out the Eagles signed him. Over the offseason, many were confused as to why the Eagles were seemingly neglecting the linebacker position in the NFL draft. That’s because they had their eyes on Wisconsin’s T.J. Edwards as they assumed he wasn’t going to get picked.

Many analysts were excited for Edwards’ progress as he was predicted to be a standout player for the Birds this preseason. Well, those assumptions weren’t too far off. Despite going mostly against backups, Edwards proved he belongs on a roster. If the Eagles waive him, we’re not sure he clears through the waivers and makes it back to the practice squad. He’s either on this team or going to be a really tough cut who probably won’t make it back.
