JJ Arcega-Whiteside

Round 2, Pick 57

JJ Arcega-Whiteside has had many shining moments in the offseason. At OTAs, he was one of Doug Pederson’s standouts before the team took their final break of the summer. That created a highly anticipated preseason effort for JJ Arcega-Whiteside.

In training camp, the Stanford wideout was clearly ahead of his time. This guy was making plays all over the place and was even getting a significant amount of reps with the starters in the red zone, which clearly shows he might not be a redshirt wideout in year one.

When the preseason came along, Arcega-Whiteside started a bit slow, but lousy quarterback play could’ve helped contribute to that. Once Josh McCown, a seasoned veteran, came into the picture for week three, of course, Arcega-Whiteside goes off. This kid might not need to do a lot in the regular season this year, but he will be available if needed. And we’re confident he can step up to the plate and contribute with the starters if asked.

Stats: 12 catches, 147 yards, 1 TD

Grade: B+
