Miles Sanders, RB

Round 2, Pick 53

Here’s a rookie, the Eagles, will most likely use more than anybody in this year’s class. Second-round running back Miles Sanders was drafted this high for a reason. Despite not having too much college production, it was clear that Sanders belongs in the NFL. And the good news is that his limited production means he doesn’t have a ton of tread on him.

The Eagles haven’t selected a running back this high since the LeSean McCoy days. And as we know, McCoy was quite the player during his time in Philly. We don’t want to put that kind of pressure on Sanders, but he did flash some McCoy-Esque moves in the offseason, which has the Eagles quite excited to see what he can do on the field with nothing but starters.

Since Sanders is going to get a reasonable amount of work in the regular season, the Eagles didn’t truly unleash him this preseason. They wanted to see what he had in the first two games, but they were extra careful with him so they could avoid any injuries. All in all, though, he’s got the fanbase excited about what’s to come this year and beyond.

Stats: 8 carries, 34 yards, 4.2 YPC
