3. Treyvon Hester, DT
Just call him the field goal blocking specialist. Here is the guy that ultimately got Cody Parkey fired from his job with the Chicago Bears, and that teams’ kicking situation hasn’t been right since. You could easily call Hester the Eagles savior after tipping that field goal in the playoffs last year.
Hester is more than just a special teams guy though. Remember, he actually looked pretty solid on defense later on in the year last season as the Eagles dealt with some injuries at the defensive tackle position. Hester is a reliable option. Unfortunately, he’s just in a really deep and talented group. The Eagles would surely lock him into a practice squad spot, but he might get claimed.
4. Orlando Scandrick, CB
Why are we shocked about this? It’s not really like Orlando Scandrick did a good job in the preseason. We all know where this guy is at, this point in his career. Well, Scandrick offers reliable depth for the Eagles as their cornerbacks are experiencing some health issues.
Cre’Von LeBlanc is out and could land on the Injured Reserve. Jalen Mills still isn’t even able to practice due to his foot injury from last season. Everybody else on board is healthy, but four cornerbacks on a team that utilizes three at a time sometimes isn’t really rich in depth. Scandrick didn’t make final cuts, but there’s a reason to believe he will be back sooner than later.
