The Defensive Line

DE1

1. Derek Barnett

2. Vinny Curry

3. Shareef Miller

Derek Barnett is a first-rounder who was actually the Eagles best pass rusher last season before getting injured. It comes as no surprise he’s a starter for week one. Vinny Curry will get valuable reps as well as we most likely won’t see much of the rookie, Shareef Miller this year.

DE2

1. Brandon Graham

2. Josh Sweat

3. Daeshon Hall

Brandon Graham is the most reliable defensive end on the Eagles. Josh Sweat and Daeshon Hall have been battling it out for that fourth rotational spot, and it looks like Sweat won. This could be the Eagles instilling confidence in one of their draft selections from a season ago, but if Sweat’s snap percentage is higher than Hall’s this week, that would be a mistake.

DT1

1. Fletcher Cox

2. Hassan Ridgeway

Fletcher Cox is the best player on the Eagles. Hassan Ridgeway came here by way of a seventh-round draft pick. That tells you all you need to know about this position.

DT2

1. Malik Jackson

2. Timmy Jernigan

Malik Jackson was signed to the Eagles to replace Timmy Jernigan. After failing to find a team to sign with in free agency, Jernigan made his way back to the Eagles on a one-year deal as a backup. Jernigan is good enough to start on the Eagles defensive line when healthy. Now, he will rotate with a Pro Bowler. That’s going to be a problem for offenses.
