Josh Perkins, TE

Nobody knew who Josh Perkins really was last season. He played on the Atlanta Falcons for two years before landing in Philly as a third-string tight end for the 2018 season. Since Richard Rodgers spent his first half of the year on the Injured Reserve, Perkins had to fill in.

Eventually, Rodgers made his way back to the team, and Perkins’ season ended up concluding with an injury as well. The Eagles kept Perkins around for the offseason to see what he could do. But they didn’t rely on him. Therefore, they brought Rodgers back as well.

Once again, Rodgers got hurt and found himself placed on the IR. Meanwhile, Perkins had an opportunity to stand out in the preseason, which he failed to do. His competition, Alex Ellis, ended up having a more productive preseason. In the end, though, neither of them made the roster despite the team needing a third-string tight end. Both Ellis and Perkins made it back to the practice squad, though.
