New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Venue: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas

Prediction: The Cowboys and Eagles are believed to be the two best teams in the NFC East, and they are. Some are predicting a Giants upset, but don’t count on it. They’ll test the defending divisional champs early, but when it’s all said and done, the Cowboys will take control late.

Final score: Giants 17, Cowboys 20

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals (A very shakey upset alert)

Venue: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ

Prediction: Who knows how this one works out, but for the record, Kyler Murray is going to be a great quarterback in the NFL. The kinks still need to be worked out, but they will be. The Arizona Cardinals‘ head man, Kliff Kingsbury, will have to wait to see his high-powered offense take off and find some traction, and in Week 1, the Detroit Lions will benefit from having the more seasoned coach and quarterback (maybe).

Final score: Detroit 24, Arizona 13

San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Upset Alert)

Venue: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida

Prediction: Yes, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are favored in this one. It’s anyone’s guess as to why that is. Maybe it’s the Bruce Arians factor. Maybe it’s because Tampa’s at home. Maybe it’s the humidity or because the San Francisco 49ers have to travel across the country. Whatever the reason, there’s something that needs to be said.

This one’s an obvious candidate for an upset. The 49ers are going to be better than most expect, and their stock rises after this one.

Final score: 49ers 27, Bucs 13
