2. Lane Johnson, RT

It comes as no secret that Lane Johnson is one of the best right tackles in the league. The Eagles feel very confident with him up front. However, just because Johnson is one of the best, doesn’t mean he won’t have a hard time keeping certain pass rushers out of the Eagles backfield.

This week, Johnson’s one-on-one opponent is quite the familiar face. He’s going against Ryan Kerrigan. As we know, Kerrigan is easily one of the most challenging pass rushers that the Eagles face every time they play Washington.

The good news is that Johnson’s good enough to put up a solid fight against Kerrigan. The bad news is that Johnson’s a bit rusty himself. While Lane Johnson didn’t miss the entire spring and summer, he did miss a good chunk of practice over the last couple of weeks.

Just as the preseason kicked off, Lane Johnson started dealing with some ankle issues, which had the Eagles being cautious about it and officially ruling him out for the preseason. He’s fine and ready for week one as expected, but there’s never a guarantee that he will be one-hundred percent ready to go.
