Carson Wentz threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns and for much of his afternoon, he was actually having an off day. Boy, did he turn it around! After one week, it would be difficult to say that he’s the frontrunner in any MVP conversation. He didn’t have the numbers that Lamar Jackson did or the sustained excellence of Tom Brady, and that can’t be denied.

What he did, however, was put his team on his back and will them to victory. Nothing says ‘value’ more than that. No quarterback faced more adversity or performed better under the pressure than Wentz did. Hopefully, Week 2 won’t bring the same struggles, but here’s what we all can say definitively.

No one expected for Nick Foles to be on the IR while Wentz is one-hundred percent healthy and balling. Things are off to a good start in a possible MVP campaign for ’11’, and had it not been for the slow start, his stock would be through the roof.

Oh, and by the way, it would be a safe guess to assume Drew Brees and Deshaun Watson will light up the scoreboard when the New Orleans Saints meet the Houston Texans on Monday night football. At the time of this writing, their game hadn’t been played yet.
