Here’s an all-time Philadelphia Eagles team fans can be proud of
The Eagles certainly are not short on great tight ends. Zach Ertz, Chad Lewis, Keith Jackson, Pete Retzlaff, and Keith Krepfle are a few that come to mind easily. Only one can call themselves a Hall of Famer however.
Elected into the Hall in 1970, Pete Pihos was a member of the NFL 1940s All-Decade Team and the NFL’s 50th Anniversary team. He was a key member of the 1948 and 1949 championship teams and played a key role by being a two-way player with sure hands.
This six-time pro bowler and six-time all-pro selection should be at the top of every impressive list of tight ends, but after107 career games as an Eagle, 373 receptions that produced 5,619 receiving yards, and 61 touchdowns, Pihos gets the nod as the starting tight end on the greatest Eagles team ever.
You can pick whoever you want from the other guys to be his backup.
