How about that performance by the Eagles cornerbacks last week? Yeah, it wasn’t pretty. Heading into the Washington game, nobody expected their wide receivers to really do anything. Leave it up to the Eagles’ secondary to change that narrative though.

I’m not sure what we watched last week, but it was terrible. It’s understandable that since the defensive line didn’t get much pressure early on, Case Keenum had all day to throw. But the Eagles’ cornerbacks definitely didn’t do their part in covering Washington’s wideouts well.

That’s in the past, though. Now we’re focused on a tough matchup against an excellent set of pass-catchers this Sunday night. I will say this now — Julio Jones will get over 100 yards. Don’t panic or get frustrated, though. Players like that will always get their yards, but as we know Jim Schwartz, he likes to bend but not break.

Hopefully, the cornerbacks do not break. The good news is that Eagles’ No. 1 cornerback Ronald Darby has a decent track record against Atlanta. Just last season, he played one of his best games in an Eagles uniform against the Falcons in the season opener. The hope is that he leads by example this week with a strong bounce-back performance after last week’s struggles.
