Here are three immediate thoughts following the news of Philadelphia Eagles running back Corey Clement’s injury.

What’s that saying? When it rains it pours? Yeah, that’s the one. Shortly after lunchtime on the East Coast, more bad news came for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans. It just never seems to end. Now, Corey Clement‘s hurt too.

Who knew a trip to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome would be so costly?

Philly took a trip to visit the Atlanta Falcons that was supposed to result in a Week 2 victory. The Eagles were favored on just about every sports platform, but when the time expired on the final quarter of the most recent Sunday Night Football game, Philly was on the wrong side of a 24-20 score.

They had also lost DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Dallas Goedert, Sidney Jones, and Timmy Jernigan for who knows how long, and those are just the names that rattle off of the top of your head. According to Ian Rapoport, Clement could be out for a while as well.

Remember that shoulder injury? You remember the one. He fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half. You remember now, right?

It’s okay. It’s understandable. There were so many injuries that it was hard to keep track, but with no Clement, the Eagles are now a man short on the running backs depth chart, the most punishing position in football. Here are three thoughts following the news.
