What’s the Lions’ biggest strength and weakness on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball?

Mullenax: The offense’s biggest strength is still quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is still able to snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat with his elite arm. The offense’s biggest weakness is likely their offensive line.

Injuries and inconsistency have plagued this unit despite the investment of two first-round picks over the past four years.

The defense’s biggest weakness is currently their pass rush. With Ezekiel Ansah leaving Detroit to play elsewhere in 2019, the Lions signed defensive end Trey Flowers to a monster five-year, $90 million deal.

Unfortunately, the former Patriot has been as close to invisible as a man can bein his first two games in Detroit. The biggest strength on defense is likely cornerback Darius Slay. Despite being abused most of the game by Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, Big Play Slay lived up to his nickname and recorded the game-sealing interception in Week 2.
