Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will see his leadership put to the test again in Week 3

Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz’s performance against the Atlanta Falcons was a tale of two halves. Statistically, it was far from his best outing, but he proved to be an effective leader and will have to prove it again in Week 3 when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Detroit Lions at Lincoln Finacial Field on Sunday.

Much like the 2018 season, 2019 has shown some of the same problems with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. In 2018, he showed a tendency to start off slowly in the first quarter of games, sometimes for an entire half. Then, he’d pick it up in the latter stages of the game.

To make things worse, Nick Foles would, again, be called upon following a Carson Wentz injury, and again, the offense seemed to take flight with Foles at the helm.

The excitement was, again, high for another Wentz return (his second in two seasons), but the offense sputtered against the Washington Redskins, and it happened again on this past Sunday night in Atlanta versus the Falcons.

On Sunday, he threw two bad looking interceptions, and the team found themselves down 10-6 at halftime before losing in heartbreaking fashion by a score of 24-10. Chapter three will be written on Sunday.
