3. Ronald Darby, CB

Was Eagles’ cornerback Ronald Darby the Isaac Seumalo of the secondary? Sort of. Let’s face it; Ronald Darby has not looked like a nine million dollar cornerback through two weeks of the season. Understandably, he’s coming off of an ACL tear from less than a year ago, but this guy is the number one cornerback on the team.

Perhaps, Jim Schwartz should consider re-evaluating his cornerback rotation. As he shifts guys like Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas in and out of the game, he pretty much had Darby out on the field all night long. And the Atlanta Falcons knew where to target and picked on him.

Darby is in a contract year, so this season is crucial to him. So far, he hasn’t done a great job increasing his stock for the free agency market he may or may not be hitting.

The Eagles don’t want to show a lack of confidence in the guy, so they most likely won’t bench him. However, if Darby turns in a lousy performance for the third week in a row, it might be time to start re-evaluating who the Eagles prioritize in the secondary on defense.
