Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Players that are key to a victory over Detroit Lions

5. Ronald Darby, CB
Nobody is happy with this guy right now. The Eagles re-signed an injured Ronald Darby back for the year. He cost them roughly nine million for one season. Clearly, the Eagles like Ronald Darby as one of their starting cornerbacks. But will they still like him that much by the end of the year?
So far, Ronald Darby hasn’t looked so hot. He struggled with limited snaps in week one. He sort of a got a pass though considering that he is coming back from a knee injury. During week two, though, Jim Schwartz let Darby play for pretty much the entire game. And let’s just say he looked just as bad, if not, worse than he did against Washington.
Considering that Detroit has been studying Philly all week-long, they most likely know where they would like to throw the ball this week. Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones took care of business on the one side last week. But Ronald Darby looked rough on the other.
Don’t be surprised to see Detroit attempting to pick on Darby early and often. He might still be dealing with his knee injury, but he won’t throw out that excuse. In a way, it would feel better if Darby admitted that was the case because now he’s just saying he’s been playing bad. This week, he needs to be better. If not, the Eagles are in for a long season with their secondary once again.
